The Israeli War on Gaza and Palestine
The current balance of forces on the military, political and ideological fronts
I’m going to post these reflections on the ongoing genocidal Israeli war on Gaza, which will serve as a chronicle of what is happening as I see it. I keep planning on making more posts on here but get distracted by adding more and more information, links to things I say, etc., and I end up just abandoning the post which I think is a waste. So I’ll just doing it stream of consciousness with these posts, and I will leave it up to you to just find whatever I reference, which should be easy enough to do as we’re all on the internet.
The current state of the military front
The 4 day truce predictably was violated and taken advantage of as much as the Israelis could get away with it. They upped their massive bombardments and killings of civilians in the final hours, they fired on civilians where they said they wouldn’t, they keep delaying the release of prisoners, they activated their propaganda network to smear the Palestinian hostages and say they are not really children, but “people under 18”. All of this was to be expected. Ben Gvir, representing the most far right genocidal aspect of a far right genocidal bunch, refused to go along with the ceasefire at all, and is pushing ahead with his plan to genocide the West Bank, which the settlers have been actively engaged in even more than at their usual pace taken advantage of the October 7th operation.
This is a sign of division and weakness among the Israeli ruling elites. Their information minister threatened to shut down Haaretz, which represents the more centrist “liberal” faction of the genocidal regime, its human face they put up to the Western world to make themselves appear somewhat normal. Jake Tapper came out and expressed dismay at this move. The Western liberal J-Street faction of the Zionist movement needs to have some symbolic things to point to as they do their propaganda. But again, it shows the division and weakness in the ruling elites that govern Israel, which was already fractured considerably before October 7th with a large anti-Netanyahu contingent, which in terms of material policy differences is irrelevant from the perspective of Palestinian liberation, but in terms of weakening the regime is an important thing to be aware of and hope will continue and become even worse as time goes on.
The families of the hostages have been raging in public against the Gvir extremist factions, as well as Netanyahu, whose political career is over as the vast majority of Israeli society blames him for October 7th and the failure to prevent it. This pushes Netanyahu to keep the genocide of Gaza going as long as he can get away with it with the West and the US in particular, as it means prolonging the inevitable end of his political life.
On the resistance front, Hamas has shown over the past month and a half that it is very capable of maintaining a guerrilla war against the Israeli regime’s troops in Gaza. Videos keep pouring out of Israeli tanks and other vehicles being hit, and more importantly of Israeli troops being killed. Hezbollah released an infographic that they have killed over 350 Israeli troops so far, and from numbers I’ve seen that I believe are credible on the Gaza front, over 500 have been killed there as well. If you add the wounded who are now out of operation by having limbs blown off, it gets to at least 3 to 5000 casualties in total. On the other side, I saw Mearsheimer cite a Wall Street Journal piece just yesterday where they claim that 1000 Hamas fighters have been killed out of a total of 30.000. That’s a rate that Israeli society and its ruling elite cannot sustain for long. Add to this the fact that other resistance factions in Iraq, Syria and especially Yemen have also joined the fight and are extracting a significant cost on the US-Israeli side, like most recently with effectively shutting down the Red Sea access to Israel’s southern port by Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance front (I have heard they prefer this term over “Houthis”, so I’ll use this from now on). I also saw that a few hours ago a US base in Baghdad was attacked for the first time by ground forces of the resistance there, which is an escalation from rocket and mortar strikes. Meanwhile there is no evidence that any of the Hamas tunnel network nodes have been taken or destroyed, and again, they keep operating freely throughout Gazan territory, striking Israeli troops with ambushes and doing significant damage.
What will happen with the truce? I expect it to hold until the hostages are released, and then for the Israeli ruling class, given the dynamics mentioned earlier, to get back to the mass slaughter of civilians. Why? This is essential to the Israeli strategy and it is important to keep this in mind given the deranged propaganda that is spread by the Western media and political class taking its cue from the Israeli regime. All the stuff about Hamas = ISIS, worse than Nazis, they’re pure evil spawns from hell, that’s for the public to be distracted and pounded with atrocity propaganda to become apathetic to the mass slaughter of civilians. It’s not real, those that spread it know what they’re doing, it’s just media warfare, a pure psy op run by intelligence networks, media corporations, the entire combined propaganda power of the Western world: BBC, NYT, Guardian are taking the leading role in that.
The reality is very simple, recently restated by John Mearsheimer in that interview he did with Lex Fridman which I posted clips of on my twitter a few days back that you can find. Israel since its inception has a strategy that it calls “The Iron Wall”, also the title of an excellent book by anti-Zionist Israeli scholar Avi Shlaim that I highly recommend. The Iron Wall states that the only way in which Israel can maintain its state power in a region wherein the overwhelming majority of the public, and before the capitulation of the 1970s, also the Arab and Muslim states are opposed to this genocidal occupation entity in their midst, is by pure unadulterated terror. We have to strike so much fear and terror into these savages, that it will function as an Iron Wall protecting us by forcing them into surrender, apathy, hopelessness, accommodation, and betrayal. Our military power, given to us by the West and the US in particular, which we control via the Israel lobby that Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt have done very good work on, which we can deploy to mass murder you in your homes, with your children and babies and mothers and fathers and grandparents and that you can do nothing about to stop—this is what ensures our continued existence, and your continued subjugation and betrayal.
This is why Israel has killed over 20.000 civilians now, and over 6000 children, and will kill even more. It is to establish a kill ratio of at least 1 Israeli to at least 20 Palestinians/Arabs/Muslims/savages. You killed 1400 of us on October 7th (they adjusted it to 1200 officially, but keep repeating the 1400 number and are going by that standard)? Ok, then we will kill at least 24.000 of you. I posted about this on Twitter weeks ago, that they would not stop until they got to the right kill ratio for this reason, to re-establish the Iron Wall that was shattered and destroyed by the heroic October 7th Al-Aqsa flood operation.
The problem is of course as mentioned that they keep losing more troops, so they keep having to kill more to get to the right ratio. Simultaneously there are the internal pressures I mentioned, the external pressure from the resistance forces in Gaza and the region, and what I have not yet mentioned but also plays an important role, the mass mobilization of the public in the West, which as noted is the source of the Iron Wall’s power. Take away US and Western military, economic and diplomatic backing for Israel, and the entire thing collapses like a house of cards, and everyone knows it.
The current state of the political front
The state of play there is that about 20 members of Congress have openly called for a ceasefire, they’re all the furthest left of the Democrats. The first who came out with this minimally principled position was Rashida Tlaib, who is now public enemy number 1 of the Israel lobby. There was Senate candidate, Hill Harper, who was contacted by the lobby to run against Tlaib for 20 million dollars, which he admirably refused to take. This is the same tactic they have used against Ilhan Omar, Nina Turner and others in this faction of the Democratic Party who have been most vocally critical of the Israel regime: recruit black and brown faces who pretend to be progressives except on Israel, and then take them out with a massive propaganda campaign flush with cash from the lobby and the Israeli regime itself, along with all the typical psy op tactics deployed by them, which we saw in all its depravity in the UK context where they destroyed Corbyn (I have posted about this extensively, and you can see it for yourself in the Al Jazeera documentary on it, just search for Corbyn The Lobby Al Jazeera on YouTube).
In the rest of the West you can find a handful of people who have similarly stood up against the Israeli regime’s genocidal war on Gaza, but it is still a very weak faction. They are however conducive to public pressure from mass mobilizations, which we have seen a significant amount of over the past month and a half, increasing in size as the slaughter went on. Jewish anti-Zionists and the Palestinian liberation networks have united to create a broad coalition that has wide appeal to especially the younger generations, where social media is playing an important role as well, which is why the Israel propagandists have been going after TikTok and Twitter to censor and stamp that out, an ultimately futile move because they cannot erase the basic humanity of people and their reactions to the wanton mass slaughter of Palestinians. Yes, the Western media and political class and its Israeli regime allies see them as savages who are being killed out of “necessity”, to re-erect the Iron Wall, but that is a depravity that is alien to the vast majority of humanity, including in the West.
The blockading of ports and weapons manufacturers by brave activists have also struck a blow to the Israeli regime’s ability to rely on the West for its Iron Wall, and these efforts will only continue no matter how many they arrest and how desperately they crack down on it with their propaganda (I saw them describing one such weapons manufacturer as a “Jewish site” and the activists who blockade it as “anti-Semites” for that reason, as if it were a synagogue).
Colleges meanwhile, historically a place where people become aware of the world’s injustices and the role played therein by the US and the West, have been the central node of these mass mobilizations, which is why the Israel network has targeted its weapons primarily at them, with Zionist billionaires doing a massive economic boycott to bring these university administration to heel by censoring and banning protests and student organizations, including Jewish ones, and smearing anyone who dares raise their voice as an anti-Semite, getting them blacklisted, and thereby creating an environment they hope will silence everyone and get them to surrender and accept defeat. So far this strategy has not worked, and students continue their important role in these efforts to mobilize people in the West.
The current state of the ideological front
Bari Weiss, Aaron Sibarium, Canary Mission and Professor Watch have been working overtime as the college-focused part of the Israel-Zionist network in the West, together with Jacob Siegel and Tablet Mag and “dissident right” factions online like Bronze Age Pervert (BAP), Curtis Yarvin (Mencius Goldbug), Darren Beattie—all of whom are incidentally Zionist Jews—are meanwhile engage in an internecine war with those on the far right who are critical of Israel, centered around Nick Fuentes and his groypers. While this fringe group is motivated by anti-Semitism, they have been able to make inroads with more mainstream elements of the conservative right who have an isolationist streak going back to Ron Paul and Buchanan, paleo-conservative “realist” types that have always been uncomfortable with the power of the Israel lobby over US foreign policy, which they perceive to be harmful to US national interests (this is a sentiment also shared on the liberal side by some). Candace Owens, Lauren Chen and some other prominent figures on the conservative right have broken with the Ben Shapiro-Steven Crowder Zionist consensus that nevertheless totally dominates the entire Republican party (only one arch-libertarian Congressman voted against the Israel bills in Congress, as against the 20 or so leftists on the Democrats’ side).
The strategy of the Israel-Zionist network to counter mass mobilizations and its inroads even on small parts of the conservative right has been to raise the specter of their favorite bogeymen since 9/11 and the “War on Terror”: Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Asra Nomani and other such filth have been re-activated from the old Islamophobia industry days. Sam Harris was jumping with joy after October 7th, as finally he can go back to inventing ever more elaborate thought experiments of how to mass kill Muslims. And all the Trump conservatives who despised him over the past years and made his life miserable online are now running back to their good old Zionist daddy who told them all about the Muslim savage hordes who are threaten Western civilization.
The line is cline: Pro-Palestine = BLM = SJWs = blue-haired college snowflakes = trans people = immigrants = savages. There is a mass bombardment going on to push this line, all the accounts, EndWokeness, LibsofTikTok, the aforementioned key figures in the Zionist-Israeli network from Bari Weiss to Siegel’s Tablet Mag, they’re all firing with full power to get this driven into everyone’s heads. Bill Maher of course is doing the job for the liberals-progressives.
I believe they will be successful to maintain hegemony over the conservative faction of the ruling class, and the groypers and Fuentes will be easily defeated and kept marginalized and any voice critical of Israel will be promptly removed from view. They will always retain their hegemony over the liberal faction, but there has been a significant weakening of it outside the political class. Can they primary and defeat a few of the 20 who stood up in Congress? Probably. Perhaps they will half their number. But the sentiments of broad based support for Palestinian liberation will reverberate throughout society, and inevitably be reflected in a weakening of pro-Israel hegemony among the political elites as well, particularly on the liberal-Democratic side. Bernie Sanders, an arch-Zionist for his entire life as I have detailed on Twitter, was forced to adopt a conciliatory approach to Palestinian liberation not because he wanted to, but because he was forced to by this widespread support for it among the Democratic liberal base, again especially those who are younger. Instead of decreasing since 2016 and the constant onslaught against it, it has only grown, and will continue to do so. Facts are on their side, and again, people’s basic humanity cannot be extinguished no matter how much you propagandize.
That only works on conservative right-wingers, who by their ideological convictions have already accepted that some humans, in fact the mass of humanity, are sub-human and deserving of being killed and wiped out. To be clear, I am referring specifically to the politically active segment of the conservative Republican right-wing movement, not the mostly passive broad population who identify as conservative. Even among them a majority supported a ceasefire as polls showed. But the politically active conservative movement is totally beholden to the Israel lobby. This is why the Israel-Zionist network in the West relies primarily on right-wing conservatism to further its ends. They are the shock-troops of Israel across the world, and have always been, whereas the left, especially the principled anti-imperialist left, has always stood against the genocidal Israeli occupation regime. Venezuela’s Maduro, Cuba, Bolivia, Lula, even Boric whom I despise otherwise, the Irish left, the Spanish left, they have all come out forcefully in support of Palestinian liberation.
Alright, this is the current balance of forces as I see it across the military, political and ideological fronts, and I will keep writing up and posting these as the genocidal Israeli war on Gaza continues to keep you updated with the latest events and my analysis of them.
Hi, i dont know if anyone will ever read this but anyway, a french anti colonial collective organized a conversation with Judith Bulter on the Palestine occupation and the recent events. You can find it on the yt channel of the collective it's called "Paroles D'Honneur". here is a clip : https://twitter.com/josephhirsch5/status/1764784098822750420
> they activated their propaganda network to smear the Palestinian hostages and say they are not really children, but “people under 18”.
I won't be holding my breath as I wait for people who get the vapors over the phrase "pregnant person" to weigh in.
