Update: Thank you to those who posted on my behalf. I saw my post with the clip was already deleted for “violating Twitter rules” so I cancelled my appeal to get unlocked so that I can repost it again, which I will do because fuck them. The absurdity of it is just astonishing given the amount of actual and constant glorification of violence that is not only allowed on Twitter, but is boosted in the trending tab.
For more see this thread:
I just logged into my account and was faced with a warning to delete a post of mine wherein I explicitly denounce the glorification of violence by Israelis, because it was mass reported as me glorifying violence.
So now I am locked out of my account by Elon Musk’s Twitter.
But I am not going to delete it. I have appealed it, and am now asking those of you who have an account there to send a message to the accounts in charge of this absurd decision and make them aware of it, and then we’ll see just how much Musk is beholden to the Israeli apartheid state and its propagandists.
You can just copy paste this message or write your own variation of it and add the screenshot as well:
@TwitterSupport @ellagirwin why is @zei_squirrel locked out of their account for posting a denunciation of violence with the lie that it’s glorifying it? It’s the exact opposite! Unlock their account!
Your tweet is 100% accurate! Elon Musk masquerades as a free speech absolutist - but he is no such thing. My account had never been censored before Musk took charge - but shortly after he bought Twitter - I was told that my account was permanently suspended and no reason was even offered. I appealed the permanent suspension & what followed was followed a notice that inauthentic activity was noticed on my account and all I would have to do was change my password to get back in. I tried to change my password - and was told that a code was sent - first to my phone & then to my email - but the code never arrives - so - I’m locked out with zero explanation as to why - other than a vague allusion to “inauthentic activity”
It's honestly appalling that you can get censored for criticizing a country. Especially when said country is an apartheid state carrying out settler colonialism and ethnic cleansing.
